SARAN KABA JONES

Founder / President / Board Member

Saran Kaba Jones is a Liberian - American global activist for clean water and international development. Having fled the civil war in Liberia when she was 8 years old, she relocated to the USA. At 28 years old, Saran returned to Liberia and saw the devastating lack of water, sanitation and health infrastructure. She founded FACE Africa in 2009, and for 15 years has worked tirelessly to get some of her home countries most vulnerable communities sustainable clean water, sanitation and health.

Saran is a TED Fellow, World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, TIME Magazine Next Generation Leader and a Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow at the Robert Bosch Academy, Berlin, examining German development cooperation with Africa. She now works in public policy, fighting hard to make true change in Liberia and beyond. Her work with FACE Africa has been profiled extensively by Forbes, the Boston Globe, BBC Focus on Africa, Town&Country, and CNN.

Prior to launching FACE Africa, Saran worked as an Investment Project Manager for the Singapore Economic Development Board.

ABIOLA OKE

Board Chair

Abiola is an international business and media executive—with over 16 years of professional experience ranging from financial services to growing media companies. A results-driven executive with exceptional experience spanning CEO and Board of Director roles. Known for strong sales, marketing, business development, and deal-making involving both start-up and growth organizations. Recognized for growing business through strategic partnerships, brand positioning, and corporate expansion. A passionate humanitarian who has served on various non-profit boards and mentored students through the Student Sponsor Partners program in The Bronx.

As a noted speaker, Abiola has spoken on topics at the intersection of business, media, technology, music, culture, and Africa, including keynotes at Stanford University, Oxford University Africa Business Conference, Haiti TECH Conference, AfroTech, World Bank IFC Sustainability Exchange, UNICEF's Global Innovations for Children and Youth Summit in Helsinki, Finland, and the Africa-America Institute’s State of Education Forum in Abidjan. He was awarded the Amplifier of the Year honor at the inaugural AfroBall gala.

BENJAMIN JOFFE-WALT

Board Member

A non-profit executive with more than two decades of experience in organizational strategy, culture, global marketing, communications, board & investor relations, recruiting, HR, finance, legal, labor relations and business intelligence.

Public speaker, C-Suite executive, activist at Change.org and devoted Dad.

PAULINE EGAN

Executive Director

Pauline is a health and international development leader, with 10 years experience in leading and scaling international water, sanitation and health education programs across Sub-Saharan Africa. Her passion resides in helping individuals, especially women, find their voice and their power to lead their community towards a brighter, more equitable future. She has designed and implemented over one hundred training programs in health, nutrition, maintenance and sustainability in Mozambique, Kenya and Liberia, as well as conceptualized and implemented over over 250 clean water projects (ground water, rain water and solar) and over 150 sanitation projects.

Pauline is from rural Queensland, Australia and is a Registered Nurse, with a Post Graduate in Primary Health in Developing Countries. She is a mentor with Rural Water Supply Network & Agenda for Change, as well as the Deloitte Women in Africa Initiative. She spends several months each year living in the community with the FACE Africa team, listening to the needs of community members and helping facilitate capacity building and conflict resolution. Pauline is also an entertainment professional with almost twenty years of experience film making, acting and music. She loves capturing and sharing true life stories of individuals who have been directly impacted by FACE Africa projects.
